Thursday Planting Work Party

Date: 23-Feb-2017
Capacity: 30 (100% booked)

Join us in planting native species near Pittock Mansion as part of the Restore Forest Park Initiative in Partnership with Portland Parks and Recreation!  We have done extensive invasive species removal in this area, and we want to follow that by replanting with trees, shrubs, ferns and forbs to help stabilize the soil and provide habitat for wildlife.

When: Thursday, February 23rd, 9am to 12pm

What:  Planting

Where: Pittock Mansion Trailhead  (Follow link for map). Meeting spot is in the back corner of the parking lot.  Look for Green FPC flag!  Carpooling is encouraged.  This location is also accessible by the #20 bus (Click link for route map), with a short walk from the bus stop to Pittock Mansion.

Remember to pack plenty of water and dress for all weather conditions. Long pants and sturdy, closed-toe shoes are required for your safety. You will get dirty. All training, tools and work gloves will be provided.

Though FPC has an excellent safety record, we require all volunteers to sign our participation waiver (follow link to view and download waiver). Volunteers under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.

Morning coffee and snacks are courtesy of Stumptown Coffee Roasters and Food Front Cooperative Grocery
