Thursday Restoration Work Party

Date: 16-Mar-2017
Capacity: 30 (100% booked)

Details

Join the Forest Park Conservancy as we remove invasive species! We will be removing English ivy from the trees as part of the Restore Forest Park Initiative in partnership with Portland Parks and Recreation. Ivy grows up trees searching for enough sunlight to flower and reproduce. Once the seeds mature, they are eaten and spread by birds to start new infestations of ivy around the area.

Join us to ensure this doesn't happen!

When: Thursday, March 16th, 9am to 12pm

What:  English ivy removal.

Where: Pittock Mansion Trailhead (Follow link for map).  Trailhead is at the far end of parking lot.  Look for the FPC sign!

Remember to pack plenty of water and dress for all weather conditions. Long pants and sturdy, closed-toe shoes are required for your safety. You will get dirty. All training, tools and work gloves will be provided.

Morning coffee and snacks are courtesy of Stumptown Coffee Roasters and Food Front Cooperative Grocery
