Stewardship Program

The Forest Park Conservancy's field crew worked with more than 1,900 volunteers in 2011, logging more than 9,000 hours of on-the-ground stewardship in Forest Park. Volunteer projects include:

  • Trail maintenance and repair
  • Removal of non-native invasive plant species
  • Construction of split rail fence
  • Decommissioning of social trails
  • Repair and construction of bridges
  • Planting of native trees and shrubs

Discovery Hike Series

The Forest Park Conservancy offers an annual series of guided hikes emphasizing the natural and cultural history of Forest Park and surrounding areas. The 2012 Discovery Hike Series features a great lineup of hikes for all ages.
