Forest Park Beer Tapping

Don’t miss this amazing beer tapping and benefit event for The Forest Park Conservancy!

Be the first to try eight unique beers inspired by Forest Park, and six more representing natural areas throughout Oregon. Hosted by Beers Made By Walking, this event is a culmination of many fruitful walks in the park.

This summer, Forest Park Conservancy (FPC) paired up with Beers Made By Walking (BMBW) to host a series of five guided hikes in Forest Park and FPC’s Ancient Forest Preserve. Led by BMBW visionary Eric Steen and FPC Program Manager Matt Wagoner, each hike explored a different trail and asked, “If this place were a beer, what would it taste like?”

The Portland hikes filled to the brim with local beer enthusiasts and expert brewers from Breakside, Coalition, Ground Breaker/Harvester, Hopworks, Laurelwood, Sasquatch and Thunder Island.

Of the resulting beers, one is made from wild yeast strains found in old-growth forest, and another is brewed with the sweet berries of native salal.

Want to taste? Stop by any (or all) of the three Portland pubs between 12 pm and 5 pm.
